Divination

TAROT: Not all people will agree with my statements but, it's the truth as I have found it to be. I have been reading tarot for well over 30 years. I am a natural reader or " born" reader if you like. Not all readers are born readers.

There a three classifications of readers: Born / Natural readers, Learned readers, and Regurgitating readers / Bullshit artists. Let's look at each one a little closer.

BORN / NATURAL READERS: These are readers that can pick up a deck and read with it without the little book on how to read tarot. They can also pick up a deck and know that deck does not want to be read by them. They interpret the energy put into the cards by their client and read as they lay the cards, and tell the client what they see. This is the purest form of reading, and the most accurate. These are few and far in between. I truly feel Blessed being natural reader!

LEARNED READERS: These are people that after lots of practice, getting to know the feel of the cards and their energies can read successfully and accurately. This does not happen over night. If it did you would be a natural reader. I know people who have taken years to hone their skills and I have a lot of respect for them.

REGURGITATING READERS / BULLSHIT ARTISTS: These are the "readers" for lack of better words, that memorize the little book and by regurgitating "catch phrases", or "key words", they will prey on the pain of their clients for profit, charging astronomical amounts, having you come back repeatedly telling you "you'll have to come back for another reading", "it's not clear", or " the stars aren't in you favor, but they will still charge you money. These people are con artists plain and simple. They give psychics and readers a bad name, and that makes people think we are all like that. In my opinion they are parasites.

PENDULUMS: These are pretty simple to use, easy to master with a little practice, and can answer the unknown. As with anything there are a few rules to proper usage and selection. That being said some of you will disagree with me, and again this is what I found to be the truth. So onward.............

SELECTION: Sounds easy right ? Not so for some, to properly select a pendulum that is right for you, you should let the pendulum select you. This is simple process, all you do is take the pendulum in your weak hand (this is the hand you do not write with) for example: if your left handed hold the pendulum in your right, and vice versa. What about ambidextrous people? Try both hands. Place your strong hand underneath with the pendulum hanging down ask it. Are you right for me? it should move Deosil or clockwise this indicates "yes'. If it moves Widdershins or anti- clockwise this indicates "no" and another pendulum should be chosen. I have found this to be most effective and accurate way because the pendulum will be better suited for you, but you can use whatever way you like choosing your pendulum always be true to yourself.

MOVEMENT: First let me say this there are six major movements, and they will not always be the same. First I will cover the movements then explain the latter. These moves are how l have programmed my pendulum movements

1. Deosil: clockwise just like a second hand on a clock moves.

2. Widdershins: anticlockwise reverse of above.

3. Back and forth: pretty simple, toward you away from you.

 4. To and fro: side to side.

 5. Centered shaking : just vibrates.

6. Elliptical orbits: egg shaped.

Now that you know the major movements I can explain how these movements are interpreted. When you program your pendulum's movements ( this is only an example of programming, always do what works for you). A good example would be............

 1. Deosil for yes,

2. Widdershins for no,

 3. Back and forth for ready for question,

4. To and fro for not enough information or confusing question,

 5. Centered shaking for will not answer,

 6. Elliptical orbits for more factors to consider, more information available, question not clear.

Even after programming this still will not guarantee your movements will stay that way, so ask you pendulum before you use it, just to be sure for the most accurate readings. Because some days they just do not want to work. If your pendulums movements change consider cleansing it.

One final thing DO NOT keep repeating the same question over and over because you don't like the answer. The pendulum will eventually create "false positives " telling you what you want to hear and not the truth. Start simple with what you know, then move on to the unknown.

CLEANSING: Neatness counts. There are a few ways to cleanse your pendulum I'll list them below.

 1. Moon phase cleansing: it takes a complete moon cycle and has to be exposed to some moon light.

2. Earth cleansing: bury it in the earth for at least a fortnight this can be messy, and can also be lost if your forgetful.

 3. Salt cleansing: bury it in a bowl of salt (natural rock or sea salt works best) for a week. ( don't use it on metals that will rust or corrode.)

4. Running water or rain water: Place it in running water ( a stream, a brook, a river) for at least 10 mins, (DO NOT use the sink or take it into the shower with you. You can lose it down the drain and tap water is unacceptable for this anyway too many chemicals and deposits). Envision the water washing everything from the pendulum, careful not to lose it in running water. For rain water: its best if you like playing in the rain, hold your pendulum in your hands and watch the water drip from it envisioning the drops removing everything. If you don't want to be or can't be out in the rain, let it hang out in the rain until the rain stops.

 5. Smudging: use incense or burning herbs holding the pendulum in the smoke and visualize the smoke carrying everything off. Until the incense is fully burned.

6. Sunlight: let it set out sun rise to sun set in full sunlight. Remember doing this animals love shiny thing and are curious.

SCRYING:  This is done by gazing into a medium to gain knowledge of the unknown. below is a list of some common things used in scrying.

1. Mirror:  This can be a "dark mirror", a regular mirror, or a highly polished surface. I will briefly describe the "dark mirror" only. The other two you should already be aware of. A "dark mirror" is a mirror that does not have a metallic backing. Instead it is basically a piece of glass painted black on one side and you gaze or "scry" into the unpainted side.

2. Water: This is usually "living" water, ie a pond, a stream, well, or a lake. You gaze or "scry" into the waters. But this can also be achieved by using a bowl or cauldron to hold the water to "scry". It is best to use natural water from a lake, river, stream, well, pond, or rain for this, as tap water contains to many chemicals and makes a poor choice.

3. Crystals/Stones: these are use in a slightly different way. They are held in the hand and "scryed". They may also be "cast" on a surface and tell you what you wish to know. Some crystals or stones have shapes or scenes in them making "scrying" more interesting.

4. Crystal Ball: This is a process called "crystalomacy" it is centuries old. It is used by placing the ball on a stand and gazing deep into the center of the ball. With some patience and practice it will become easier to read.

5. Smoke: Can be used to find the unknown just as theses other mediums. This is done by interpretation of shapes and the movement of the smoke.

6. Fire: Have you ever sat and just watched a fire burn? Well this can be used to answer some of lifes questions. Look into the fire as well as the coals to get a glimpse of the unkown.

7. Bones: Yes thats right I said bones. These are cast on a surface and ineterpreted by the way they lay.

These are just a few different way to "scry" as with anything you need to practice, practice, practice. Also you have to have patience as well as a clear and peaceful mind. Remember to keep your mind open don't have a thousand thoughts running around your head. The best advice I can give is "Stay centered, have an open clear mind, a peaceful heart free of hatred or anger, concentrate and most importantly be impartial and patient".

RUNES:  Are twenty-four stones or cards with different shapes on them used to reveal the unknown. They can actually tell a story that reveals the truth. Used mostly like tarot cards they are arranged in a pattern set by the "seer" to reveal the unknown. Now a bit about the use of runes. They are usually kept in a bag or box they are cast on an east west axis, the stones are cast usually on a white cloth and the ones that are face up are read, the position of the shape on the stone determines weather the meaning is divine or reversed. You can also do a stone a day reading by picking one from the bag and casting it. There is also the three stone method. This is for a more detailed daily method.

I CHING:  This centuries old method of divination was invented by the Chinese as a means to get the truth. It consists of a deck of sixty-four specialized card with symbols on them. They are arranged in a pattern to form a "hexagram" (Both primary and secondary). There are also three coins used in the divination process, these coins are flipped to determine the "Yin" and "Yang" or the "broken and solid" respectively. There is also the "Old" Yin and Yang the denote changes. It takes much practice and it is a long process. Patience is a premium with this type of divination. When the hexagrams are finishes the truth is revealed. It can take roughly an hour or  longer depending on how complicated the hexagrams is.

These are just some of the ways to reveal the unknown. There are many others I have not touched on, you can even make your own ways of divination. Regardless of the method you choose some things are the same for all of them. Practice, patience, purity, whatever divination tools you choose to use, please do it responsibly and remember that it's not just your life that you are effecting in the the universe, don't use it for personal conquest, use it to help give or gain clarity and make a better the world for all. Blessed Be!
